Story
A friend who cares about a girl dearly recalls the last thing she said to him when he went to see how she was doing, “it was tiring morning…” She did not even invite him in for a cup of coffee as she usually did.
Later that same day he receives a call from her, and she says “I love you forever…”
He recalls through awkward silence that she took longer than usual to hang up the phone, but she hung up the phone before he could ask her if she was okay.
Suddenly, the next day as he was passing by her place, he sees an ambulance and police cars surrounding her house. He watches in utter disbelief as they take her lifeless body to the ambulance.
Forever was a lie. She had taken her own life. Before she did, she called everyone she knew and told them the same exact thing she had told him, “I love you forever…” Forever was a lie.
The friend laments that there was no one there to hold her, wipe her tears, console her, or even hear her cries. The burden sits on his conscience that he could have said something, done something. But, it was too late. Forever was a lie.
Lyrics
She said it was
A tiring morning
And so she called
Everybody that she knew
She took a little bit longer to say
She took a little longer to say
Goodbye
She told them that she loved them
She told then that she’ll love them
Forever
Forever
Forever was a lie
Forever was a lie
Forever was a lie
Forever was a lie
No one was there
To dry her eyes
No one was there
To dry her eyes
No one was there
To dry her eyes
No one was there
To hear her cries
(guitar solo)
She said it was
A tiring morning…
